We are LUCKY!

Despite the fact I experienced some minor *frustrations with my husband returning home from work at 2:30 am on Thursday and then 12:30 am on FRIDAY, we are extremely blessed in our work situations.

Chris works for really great, smart and honest people. He LOVES what he does everyday, and it's rarely the same thing day after day. It's fast enough paced that it keeps him on his toes so he doesn't get board. When you are spending more time with your co-workers at work than you are with your family at home, it's uber important that you love your job and the people you work with.

I'm totally enjoying the HUGE corporate setting that I have chosen to work in. I went from ad-agency-paced ghetto-warehouse-scrap job to huge-company scrap job. I love knowing what is on the forecast everyday, not being responsible for all things computer related. I have the luxury of actually spending thought out time on individual designs and getting quality feedback... I'm learning so much. I'm so much happier here! It's amazing what a little professionalism does to your confidence! (My first paper collection - Daydreamer is due in December and I'll be sure to post designs when I can

* My frustrations were nearly erased when I saw what Chris had spent so many hours doing. And we got a lavender eyed head shot out of it! Isn't he cute?!?

"Blogs are for looking not reading."

I told Chris once that blogs were for looking and not reading. So here is something to look at. This is what we saw on our rendezvous up to the family cabin to turn off the water. It was breath taking, but cold. Winter (right now) is unwelcome in my book!

Blast from the past: Skyline High Pics

Asking Chris to the WA dance was a pretty scary thing for me to do! I remember the huge steep driveway that I had to go up, and felt like I could be seen by everyone. He agreed to go, and let's be honest it was pretty awkward... but what isn't awkward about high school dances?!

Who would have thought that 6 years later he would be sending me off on a mission, and 2 years after that be married?! Pretty scary! But I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out! Thanks for sending us these pics, they are priceless!!!

***if anyone else comes across such pictures, please let us know :)

Friday's date night!

Our little date started a tad earlier than I thought it would - 2:30 pm, but we did all sorts of fun activities! We started first by meeting lots of new people (doctors) my date was very polite to each person - although I think he would have preferred to just spend the afternoon with me. Then there were some x-rays and blood drawn and it kinda put a damper on his mood. Oh well, we had plenty of time to recover because we found out a few minutes later that we were going to have a sleep-over (at the hospital)!!!

We got to stay up REALLY late and even watch a little TV in bed at 1:00 in the morning!

So in all reality, I really wasn't on a date... but I did sleepover at Primary Children's Hospital, so they could keep tabs on this little guy's pneumonia and super high fever. He was a trooper and so brave, I was proud!
I'm also glad I was available to help while his parents were out of town!

Au Naturale Sugarhouse opening

Chris and I were invited to a VIP Open House for a new restaurant opening in Sugar House next week. The reason we were invited is because Chris is full of mad hook ups and really cool friends! No, but really his good high school buddy Jordan has been the account exec for this thing over the past year. The opening night was amazing, it seemed all of the little details were thought out. Good work Jordan!!! (And props for being the backup man on the music!)

Not only was the atmosphere fun (as well as all of the beautiful granite countered booths) the food was amazing and unique. The premise of this eatery is that everything is SUPER natural and healthy like no pre-processed meats or fries that AREN'T fried!!! (It is also vegetarian and vegan friendly) There was quite a bit of food to sample, but my favorites were the Parmesan Lavash Chips and the Tanga Frozen Yogurt (sugar free acai berry treat!)

Price points are completely reasonable the most expensive entree on the menu is $7.99.

Located on 2100 South and 900 East.

Opens October 9th.
